Living Out Loud: A Call to Men for Authentic Faith and Leadership

Listen up, fellas. We have an obligation. Not just to our wives, not just to our kids, but to the world. The world needs strong men, men who aren’t afraid to live out their faith in a radically authentic way. You’ve heard me say it before, but I’ll say it again: Nothing great ever happens in the comfort zone. It was true for St. Paul, who pushed past persecution and imprisonment to share the Gospel, and it’s true for us. His words in 1 Corinthians 16:13 remind us, "Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong."

The home is the first place where your children will encounter the Catholic faith and guess who they're looking to? You. When a secular world tells them that faith is outdated, irrelevant, or unnecessary, your commitment to faith says otherwise. They need to see you praying, attending Mass, showing kindness, serving others, and loving God with a passion. Your example speaks louder than any lecture you give them. It lights a path for them to follow.

So, it’s time we step up. Don’t just go through the motions. Live out your faith. Really live it. And not just on Sundays, but every day of the week. Starting right now, I want you to commit to one thing that will bolster your role as a faith model in your family. Maybe it's adding an extra 10 minutes of prayer to your day, or starting a study of a book of the Bible. It's time we take action, guys. Remember, small changes can make a massive impact over time. So let's get started. Be the men our families, and indeed the world, need us to be. Let's show them what real faith looks like.
